Orientation

A child's first experience away from home may be overwhelming. Feelings of anticipation and excitement are mixed with fear and apprehension. The Center's are here to offer support in making the child's transition as smooth as possible. At home, parents are encouraged to discuss with their child their first experience away from home and to talk about where the child will be going while they are at work. The next step is a brief visit to the Center accompanied by one or both parents. The child will then have the opportunity to sit at a table, play with toys, locate a cubby, meet the teachers and explore the environment.
